| WANTAGE'S public transport, leisure facilities and youth clubs must all be improved, according to a new report.
The Wantage, Grove and district draft action plan identifies areas which must be bought up to scratch to meet the growing population's needs.
Dozens of volunteers spent three years examining all the facilities and infrastructure, and now they have come up with a list of findings and actions, which are currently being reviewed by the public. Volunteers said a 'key priority' was the Market Place refurbishment and links to and from the Limborough Road development, were 'crucial' for the town centre vitality.
They also noted access to healthcare was restricted by poor transport, with factors like a lack of volunteer drivers and the withdrawal of travel tokens. |
